Nursing, A.S.Year of Graduation:
2020I wanted to earn my degree because:
Being a medical assistant for 4 years, I loved the patient interaction. However, I craved more knowledge and education in regards to my patients' pathophysiology, treatments, and well-being. Nursing provides the continuous learning that I craved with the caring, empathetic, and compassionate aspects that I love.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My husband. My Children. My Parents & In-Laws. My friends. They have all sacrificed many moments without me while I was in the books and they have all picked up my slack when I was worn down.
My classmates: we picked each other up when giving up felt like a good option & pushed each other to study when that was the last thing we wanted to do.
I’d like to give a shout out to:
All of the Nursing Instructors and Faculty who pushed all 44 of us through. TRCC has a wonderful group of Nursing Staff that I will not forget.
My Classmates ~ we had a strong group of students who worked well together and helped each other succeed. You will all be wonderful nurses. I wish you all well and pray that you end up exactly where you envisioned yourself in the nursing field!
The entire TRCC community - This college provided everything I needed and more for success.
What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:
This may have been the most challenging 2 years of my life. The TRCC nursing program molds its students into extremely competent, safe, caring, professional, and empathetic nurses. I feel confident that I will be successful as a new graduate nurse in all aspects and I am incredibly grateful for that.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:
Clinical provided me with a great learning experience that was exciting and fun. I also met some lifelong friends that I am very grateful to have around!
Clubs, volunteer work, organizations that I participated in while at Three Rivers included:
SGA, SNA, and PTK.
I plan to use my degree to:
Provide excellent, quality care in my community while moving healthcare upstream. Provide tools and education for the community to move toward a future of health.
Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:
Taking the next steps in educational advancement while working in a career that I love!
What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:
the nursing faculty!
