Degree/Certificate:

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, A.S.

Year of Graduation:

2022

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I wanted to earn my degree at Three Rivers because I wanted to become a medical assistant. Three Rivers offered the program for this career. I also wanted to earn a college degree and be able to say I am a college graduate. Going to Three Rivers was the best option for me to reach this goal. I feel very accomplished!

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

While earning my degree my greatest supporters were my parents and one of my professors, LuAnn. My parents and LuAnn always believed in me, and not once ever gave up on me. Without the three of them I would not be graduating. They always pushed me when it got hard, and when I wanted to give up they would not let me. I am very thankful for them! They always supported me each and every day.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

I would like to give a shout out to LuAnn, one of my professors for medical assisting. LuAnn was the best teacher I have ever had. And I mean that. LuAnn always made learning fun, and always pushed everyone to do their best, and be their best. I wish everyone could have her as a teacher. She is amazing! LuAnn is why my experience at Three Rivers was so great.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

The thing I like best about my degree program was the professors, and the students in the program. When I first started with the CCMA program in the Fall of 2020, I had no idea what I was getting into. But it ended up being the best experience due to just how great the professors (LuAnn and Dawn), and the students were. Everyone was so nice and made the program so fun! This degree program means so much to me.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

The thing I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers was our medical assisting labs on Fridays. I loved always getting together with the whole class and doing hands on activities. It was so fun because we would wear our scrubs to class, and do activities such as performing EKGs on each other, drawing blood on each other, capillary punctures on ourselves or each other, learning how to dress wounds, and so forth. It never was a boring time! I learned so much on these Friday labs.

Clubs, volunteer work, organizations that I participated in while at Three Rivers included:

N/A

I plan to use my degree to:

The way in which I plan to use my degree is with my new career as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. My degree has prepared me with all of the knowledge in which I need for my career.

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Now that I have completed college, I am looking forward to working full time with my new career. I am excited to now use all I learned while at Three Rivers in the real world. Three Rivers has prepared me to go out and make a difference in the world.

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

The things I will miss most about Three Rivers is the professors and the students, and the medical assisting program itself. It is a hard goodbye for me. I am lucky to have had such a great experience at Three Rivers.
