Environmental Health and Safety Management Certificate

Year of Graduation:

2021

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I have a passion for the environment and strive for a better future in the field of Environmental Management. I want to help make a change for a brighter future in the wake of climate change. To ensure that the environment is under proper management and protection as our world continues to change in severe weather patterns, temperatures, and ecological shifts over time. This degree opens many opportunities for several environmental fields that will help me achieve these goals that I have set for myself and prepare me for the next steps in advancing my education at a four-year university.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My greatest supporters during my time at Three Rivers were my parents who always encouraged me and my Program Director Dr. Diba Khan-Bureau. Dr. Khan helped support me in my academics by creating amazing opportunities for me to participate in such as being a student tutor. I am grateful for all the help she has given me during my time in the program and always encouraged me to do my best.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

I want to give a shout out to my friends at Three Rivers who have stuck with me and supported me through the toughest times in my life so far. Without them, my academic career would have been a lot harder to deal with. They will always be a part of my life no matter where we go and I can always count on them for the amazing support and kindness we all need.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

My degree program was diverse in the classes we got to take and explored so many different areas of what it means to work within the Environmental Science field. There are so many different paths you can chose the take and advance in when it is time to take that next step. The program was able to help me find that specific path I want to continue my education on and one day work in that specific field.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

The community at the College was always friendly and an open atmosphere. The staff for admissions, cashier, and clerk's office are all super helpful and will get back to you as soon as they can. The efficiency at TRCC is what helped me keep track of my classes and where I was on the completion of both my degree and certificate program.

Clubs, volunteer work, organizations that I participated in while at Three Rivers included:

I participated in Three Rivers Environmentalist United Club at TRCC. I loved being in the club and all the fun activities we got to participate in whether our own or a bigger part of school functions.

I plan to use my degree to:

I plan to use my degree in the field of Environmental Management and more specifically protection through the career of a Game Warden or working within the Environmental Protection Agencies.

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

I will miss my group of friends that I got to experience classes together and the close friendships we developed over time. I will especially miss Dr. Khan and all the wonderful work she does for the students and community at TRCC.
