I am the first in my family to earn a college degree.

Yes

I wanted to earn my degree because:

Teaching is more than "a job." You can make a difference in your students' lives. I hope to create a safe and loving environment for my future students as if we are one big classroom family.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

Both my parents, little brother, and my dog Max. My boyfriend, Justin. And my family and friends.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

All the teachers who have gone the extra mile helping me when I was struggling with certain classes, especially math. I couldn't have graduated without their help. Thank you.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

I loved learning everything having to deal with early childhood. From the different theorists, to developmental domains, and even the student teaching practicum course to grab that hands on experience of what being a teacher for little ones is truly like. Being a teacher is extremely important to me. This is because I get to help students find a purpose of who they are, set them up for success as citizens of our world, and inspire in them a drive to be the best versions of themselves as they continue to grow.

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Moving forward in my education, I will be attending Eastern Connecticut State University in the fall to earn my bachelor's and master's degrees.
