Arianna! I am beyond proud of you. I’ve known you since the 7th grade and I must say, it’s been a pleasure knowing you. I have watched you blossom from a young girl into an amazing mother. I’ve also witnessed you working with Children. It’s not an easy job, but for you the love, patience and passion you have for kids is amazing and well appreciated! Know that your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. Well wishes as you continue striving.

Degree/Certificate:

Early Childhood Education, A.S.

Year of Graduation:

2020

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I love working with children and I feel it’s important that children in my community see teachers that look like them!

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My sister Ariedne for always helping me if I didn’t understand something even though she’d get out of work late. My good friend Kathy for watching my children when I had no one else to. Megan Wischer in the admissions office for always helping me figure out what my next step was. Heather Bassett for being such an amazing teacher and inspiring me in more ways than one.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

Anabelle, Montez and Ava. I wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t to show my kids that school is important and regardless of your age, you can do it! I hope I inspire them as much as they motivate me. I’d also like to give a shout out to my partner Matt for always believing in me and pushing me to be my best self!

I plan to use my degree to:

Become a teacher. My next step is to become the first person in my family to receive her bachelors degree and to become a teacher.

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Taking a break. Working full time, running a business, raising kids and going to college is a lot to balance. While I plan to continue, self care is important too! I look forward to a break before continuing my academic journey.
