This event was originally scheduled for March 7.

Join us for a presentation on The Status and Rights of Undocumented Immigrants by Joanne Lewis, an attorney for Connecticut Legal Services (CLS). The presentation will be held on Wednesday, April 4 at 12:15 p.m. at Three Rivers Community College in room F-117. This free event is presented by the Three Rivers Community College Community Involvement & Support Committee.

The presentation will discuss the legal immigration system, legal issues and threats facing undocumented immigrants, as well as the legal rights of undocumented immigrants. There will be time for a question and answer session afterwards. This free event will have valuable information for those interested in immigration, both legal and illegal, as well as the plight and rights of undocumented immigrants.

The speaker, Joanne Lewis, is the supervisor of CLS’ statewide immigration work, specializing in representing victims of crime, children and DACA recipients. She has practiced law in Connecticut for more than 40 years and presented to groups around the state about immigration related issues. CLS is a private, non-profit civil law firm dedicated to helping low-income families and individuals obtain justice. It is the largest legal aid agency in Connecticut, covering 122 communities in Connecticut and working in collaboration with New Haven Legal Assistance Association and Greater Hartford Legal Aid.

The Status and Rights of Undocumented Immigrants will be held at Three Rivers in room F-117 on Wednesday, April 4 at 12:15 p.m. It is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Prof. Steven Neufeld at 860-215-9457 or Prof. Vicki DiFilippo at 860-215-9466.
