Welcome new first-time college students!

Congratulations on your acceptance to Three Rivers Community College!

This page will provide you with the information you need to take next steps to enroll and then register for classes.

Semester Dates

Whether you’ll be taking summer courses or will be attending college for this first time, here are the semester dates.

Registration for Winter 2020 and Spring 2021

Registration begins on November 9 for new (first-year) students. See Winter 2020 classes here.

Winter 2020

3-week Session begins Tuesday, Dec 29.

Spring 2021

15-week Semester and 7-week Accelerated Session Classes begin on Friday,  January 22. Additional accelerated courses begin Tuesday, Feb 16 and Tuesday, March 23.

While our campus is closed due to the coronavirus, the Office of Admissions has created online WebEx Information sessions. Sign up for a session at our Info Sessions, Tours & Events page.

Enrollment Steps

Your assigned student ID number and Community College e-mail address are noted on your acceptance letter. You will need this information to establish your myCommNet and student e-mail accounts. It is imperative that you set up both accounts to receive important information regarding your progress.
Set up your myCommNet and Student E-mail account

Net ID:

Username: Student ID (without the “@”)
Domain: @student.commnet.edu

Example: A student with a BannerID of @87654321, will have the following NetID:

87654321@student.commnet.edu

Password:

  1. 1st three characters of birth month (with first letter capitalized)
  2. Ampersand character – &
  3. Last 4 digits of Social Security Number

So, for a user with a birth date on 10/24/79 and a social security number of 123-45-6789, then the initial password would be:

Oct&6789

You are encouraged to complete the online free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using the TRCC school code “009765”.

The first step is to create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. Your FSA ID is made up of your user name and password and is used to confirm your identity when accessing your financial aid information. After completing your FSA ID, you can complete the financial aid application at: www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Important information about your financial aid will be sent to your student e-mail and myCommNet accounts.*

Proof of High School Completion

Submit one of the following to the Admissions Office:

  • copy of your high school transcript with graduation date – (preferred for course placement consideration),
  • high school diploma,
  • GED certificate or
  • State High School Equivalency diploma.

Immunization Requirements 

Provide proof of Measles/Mumps/Rubella/Varicella (MMRV) Immunizations to the Admissions Office. Depending on your date of birth, these requirements may vary. For more information on this requirement refer to the State Immunization Form (pdf).

SAT and/or ACT Scores

Only if available. If you took these tests, your scores will be considered for course placement consideration.

Disability Services/Accommodations

Support is available to accommodate students’ different abilities. Submission of a confidential disabilities disclosure form and appropriate documentation will start the eligibility process. Learn more here.

How to Submit Required Documents

Upload Immunizations and Proof of HS Completion documents to your application portal or electronically from your high school’s Counseling Office using Naviance.

Please note: when uploading your documents to your application portal, PDF files are the preferred file type, however, JPG & JPEG  are also acceptable. HEIC is the image format for newer Apple phones and is not an unacceptable file type, as it cannot be viewed from our software.

A real time list of missing supplemental items and documents can be viewed by logging into your application portal. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it on the sign-in page.

In-person drop-off is not an option while the College building is closed due to the Coronavirus.

Registration Holds

If you have not provided all of the information noted in the steps above, you may have a registration hold indicating you have missing items. If you have a hold, you will not be able to register.

Because the campus is closed, all registration will take place online at my.commnet.edu in the Banner Self Service section. You will need your student ID number and password.

Students that need technical assistance can email in their registration requests to registrar@threerivers.edu.

Meet with an Advisor

Before you can register, you must schedule an appointment with an advisor. Please email TR-Advising@threerivers.edu and include your name, phone number, your Three Rivers’ Student ID number and email address. An Advisor will contact you to assist you in selecting courses.

Course Placement

Due to the campus being closed through the spring semester due to the coronavirus, Accuplacer Testing has been suspended for the time being. Instead, incoming students will be assessed for math and English skills using their High School transcript, SAT scores and/or ACT scores (if available). These documents help advisers assist you in selecting appropriate courses.

Winter 2020

Tuition and Fees are expected at the time of registration.

Spring 2021

Fees are expected at the time of registration, total tuition owed is payable by January 2, 2021.

An official financial aid award can be applied as payment. Payment plans are available for students registering for 6 or more credits.
