Three Rivers Celebrates Renovated Tutoring Academic Success Center with Ribbon Cutting
CSCU President Mark Ojakian and Three Rivers President Mary Ellen Jukoski cut the ribbon at the official celebration of the College’s newly renovated Tutoring and Academic Success Center on Monday, October 30. The state-of-the-art, world-class center was finished in time for the beginning of the Fall semester, ready to serve double the number of students from the previous year.
President Jukoski thanked the architects and construction team for getting the project done “on time, under budget, and ready to go for the Fall semester.” President Ojakian stressed the importance of TASC saying to the students present, ““This is all about student success. It really is all about you, understanding what your goals are and understanding what the obstacles are that are in your way to achieving those goals. This center is about providing you with what you need to move to the next level.” Student and peer tutor Tina Woodall also expressed that “the Tutoring Center has actually helped me tremendously.”
In addition to students, faculty and staff, also joining in the celebration were: Matt Burbine, Tutoring Center Coordinator; Chris Williams, Christopher Williams Architects, LLC; Project Manager Mark Pozzi, Christopher Williams Architects, LLC; Project Manager Mike Daigle, Diversity Construction Group; Director of Facilities Arnie Delarosa, Three Rivers Community College; CT State Rep.
