Join us for a discussion with David K. Leff on the history, technology and community of maple sugaring on Wednesday, November 15 in room C-101. This event is part of the Dr. Booker T. DeVaughn Lecturer Series and is sponsored by Dime Bank.
Leff, author of numerous essays, columns, and stories for the Hartford Courant, Appalachia and other publications, is a former Deputy Commissioner, Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. His work focuses on the surprisingly intimate relationship of people to their built and natural environments. His nonfiction book, The Last Undiscovered Place, was a Connecticut Book Award finalist. His work has appeared in the Hartford Courant, The Wayfarer, Appalachia, Yankee, Connecticut Woodlands and many more.
The Dr. Booker T. DeVaughn Lecture Series provides a platform for the exchange of ideas in the community. The series was established by and named for Three Rivers’ President Emeritus Dr. Booker T. DeVaughn. Lectures are free and open to the college community and public.
