Three Rivers Community College is pleased to welcome back Jacob Cullers, a Three Rivers graduate, for his solo exhibition. “Castles Made of Sand.” The exhibit is composed of recent work that Cullers completed while getting his graduate degree at the Glasgow School of Art. His works are comprised of both oil on canvas and dust sheet and oil on canvas.

All are invited to an artist talk on Monday, December 5 from noon to 1:00 pm by Jacob Cullers in the college gallery. The talk is free and open to the public.

Cullers began painting in earnest after serving in Iraq and credits painting with saving his life after his brother was killed while serving in Afghanistan. “The idea for my work has been an ongoing theme. The only really good thing that came from my brother being killed was that I had painting at the time to express how I felt. It’s been years in the making with different themes running through my work. Each work … holds certain emotions and conveys them through the imagery.”

The Gallery at Three Rivers is located on the second floor above the main entrance. It is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Castles Made of Sand” will run through Friday, December 2.
